Thomas Hawley lives in Carmel Valley, California, where he and his wife, Marijke, run a small vineyard and winery. His love for the early California impressionists drew him to oil painting over 15 years ago and since then he has won numerous juried awards in art competitions for his vivid local seascapes. He has studied for over 10 years with Guido Frick, a German Expressionist, and has been guided by his admiration for such California artists as S.C. Yuan, William Ritschel, Joseph Raphael, and Armin Hansen.
